A SANKOFA EXPERIENCE

Beloved Sisters and Brothers of the Order,

We greet you in unity, in purpose, and in love for the light that guides our steps. Today, I write with urgency—not for ceremony, but for action; not for formality, but for faithfulness to the mission entrusted to us.

As members of this great fraternal order, we are stewards of a sacred legacy. Ours is not simply a society of symbols and rituals—it is a living testament to the strength, vision, and service of those who came before us. Our Past Grand Worthy Matrons and Past Worthy Patrons did not labor in vain. They planted seeds of excellence, watered by sacrifice, and harvested in harmony. We owe them more than memory; we owe them momentum.

Now is the time to return and reclaim—to reach back and gather what is good, meaningful, and essential from our past. This is the heart of Sankofa: a powerful African principle that teaches us we must go back to fetch what we have forgotten, left behind, or neglected, in order to move forward with integrity and strength. It is not enough to remember our past—we must live its lessons and bring its light into the present.

We stand at a crossroads. Participation is waning. Commitments are faltering. The silence of inaction grows louder than the sound of service. But we were not called to be still. We were called to build, to uplift, to labor with love for the betterment of our communities, our youth, and each other.

This is an urgent call to every member—to rise. We need your support, participation and well-wishes!  We are inviting you to be a part of the entertainment, looking for singers, dancers, theatrical presentations.  Please contact Sis. Ursula Bradshaw 513-702-3572 or Sis. Cheryl Spencer 937-369-5087 if interested.

Let us honor our foremothers and forefathers not with words alone, but with work. Let their legacy be the lamp we carry, not a relic on the shelf. This is our moment to show that we are worthy of what we have inherited.

Let us remember. Let us rise. Let us return and reclaim—Sankofa.
